What is a Room?

A Room is a chat for the entire community accessible to all members of a Space.

Key Features

• Automatically adds all members as they enter the Space.
• Generated automatically upon the creation of the Space (initial Room).
• Only Space Creators can create extra Rooms.
• Participants are unable to exit a Room.
• Members cannot be expelled from a Room.
• All participants can send messages and share media (if permitted by the Creator).

What is a Chat?

A Chat is a confidential group discussion among chosen participants of a Space.

Key Features

• Can be generated by Creators and Members (if allowed by the Creator).
• Invitation-only – members must be added by hand.
• Admins/Creators can remove members.
• Users have the option to exit a chat at any moment.
• Appropriate for concentrated conversations or intimate gatherings.

Checklist

• Use Rooms for community-wide conversations.
• Use Chats for private group discussions.
• Remember: Rooms are for all, Chats are private.
• ‍Creators manage Rooms, Members can create Chats (if allowed).
• ‍Leave Chats if needed, but Rooms are permanent for members.
